Sunday, November 2, 2025, Mystic held two amazing community events: The Tarzan Brown Mystic River Run and the Tarzan Paddle Race hosted by Adventure Mystic.
It was a picture-perfect Fall day in Mystic, blue skies, crisp air, and that golden autumn sunlight that makes the water and trees glow.
The Tarzan Brown Mystic River Run
Hosted by the Greater Mystic Chamber of Commerce and Kelley’s Pace, the Tarzan Brown Mystic River Run honored the legacy of two-time Boston Marathon champion Tarzan Brown, a local running legend from the 1930s. Runners of all ages filled the streets of downtown Mystic, tackling the scenic course that winds through the village and along the Mystic River. The event continues to be one of the area’s most beloved Fall traditions, drawing both competitive athletes and families looking to celebrate local history and fitness.
The Tarzan Paddle Race at Adventure Mystic
Just across the river, Adventure Mystic brought the energy to the water with the 4th Annual Tarzan Paddle Race. Participants from across the region hit the water to compete in the Tribridge Challenge, paddling SUPs, surfskis, kayaks, and canoes through Mystic’s iconic waterways.
Sponsored by amazing local businesses including The Engine Room, Spencer & Lynn Wine & Spirits, SUP CT, Prana Yama, Chapter One, Palmers Provisions, Rio Salado, Julie’s Cup of Joe, and more, the event captured the essence of what makes Mystic special — community, connection, and adventure.
The day wrapped up with an after-party and BBQ featuring a live DJ, prizes, and plenty of laughs shared among racers and spectators. It was a celebration of local spirit that perfectly blended fitness, fun, and the beauty of a Mystic Fall weekend.
Whether you were on the trails or on the water, this was a day to remember in Mystic, Connecticut.
