There’s something magical about sailing through the waters of Mystic, and yesterday I got to experience that magic firsthand aboard the Argia—Mystic’s own two-masted schooner that offers unforgettable coastal cruises from May through mid-October.

The trip began right next to the Mystic Bridge in Downtown Mystic, where the Argia crew welcomed us with warm smiles and some funny jokes to help ease the usual emergency exit information and housekeeping notes. As we sailed into Fishers Island Sound, the crew filled us in on the history of the area, the islands, the lighthouses, and the ecology around us while continuing to keep the upbeat and funny remarks which made the trip much more enjoyable.

Now let’s talk about the food! For the first time, I had Off the Hook’s lobster rolls delivered right to the dock before the trip—thanks to Lola! 🦞 You can place an order before your cruise and have it waiting for you to enjoy while you sail. Genius. And for dessert? I popped into Mystic Sweets & Ice Cream Shop beforehand for some of their delicious handmade chocolates. Nothing pairs with sea breeze like chocolate and sunshine, trust me.

Also worth a shoutout—my new Just Mystic shirt and corduroy that kept me comfy and stylish for the whole trip. Whether you’re snapping photos or simply relaxing, their gear is perfect for a laid-back Mystic day.

If you haven’t sailed aboard the Argia, make this the year you do. Bring some local food, wear something comfy, and let the sails do the rest. Mystic has a way of showing off when you’re on the water—and the Argia is the perfect front-row seat.
