When your bestie calls and says, “We’re going to a foodie festival,” you say yes. Especially when that bestie is Thuy, aka @honeybunnytwee, and the event is hosted by none other than Gina De Feo, the incredible force behind @thehappyhourhunter. The best part was having my brother, owner of PubliCreatives, come with me to this event so we can spend some time together. We don’t get to hangout as much anymore because we are both busy creating content every day.

The Connecticut Foodie Fest took place this past weekend at Wasson Field in Milford and it was everything. With over 30 food vendors and trucks, this wasn’t just a food fest—it was a full-blown celebration of flavor, creativity, and local pride.

Gina was an incredible host—warm, welcoming, and clearly passionate about bringing people together. It’s not easy coordinating an event of this size, but she made it look effortless, and I was so happy to finally connect in person. Her love for food and community was felt throughout the entire festival.

Every food truck I visited was more than happy to let me snap photos, film content, and get creative with them. From savory bites to sweet delights, the vendors showed up with personality, smiles, and seriously delicious menus. I left full—in both stomach and spirit.

The entire day was filled with music, like from singer David Payne, fun people, and the kind of small business love that makes Connecticut so special. It’s events like this that remind me why I love what I do: capturing stories, celebrating community, and sharing the magic that happens when we come together.

If you missed this year’s Foodie Fest, don’t worry—this is one event you’ll want to catch next time. Big thanks to Gina, The Happy Hour Hunter, for having us, and to all the amazing vendors who made the day so memorable.
